New to Grieve Fully, Live Fully? Start here ⭐️
Welcome, friend! I'm so glad you're here. Learn more about my mission to connect with others through writing and sharing stories.
👋 Hi, I’m Ruhie!
A writer, doctor & grief advocate.
Also: mum of three, second-generation Indian-Australian, recovering perfectionist… and a longstanding caffeine enthusiast (okay, borderline addict).
Ever felt like you’re juggling a million things but also craving more depth and meaning in life? That’s exactly where I’m coming from.
🌱 Thank you so much for joining me on this journey!
I started this newsletter as a way to process and share my personal experience of grief after losing my Dad, Sanjay, to ALS (or MND)*. What began as letters to him has since grown into something far deeper and more meaningful…

🌟 Grieve Fully, Live Fully is a supportive space to explore the messy, painful, beautiful realities of grief and life. A place to ask:
How do we keep showing up — with honesty, heart, and purpose — even when life feels impossibly hard?
Because here’s the truth: grief is universal. Every single one of us will experience it — and yet, it’s so often avoided, misunderstood, or downplayed. We live in a culture that rushes past grief, that prefers stoicism over vulnerability, and distraction over discomfort.
But grief isn’t a problem to be fixed. It’s a natural, human experience that deserves to be met with care and understanding.
🌈 Whether you’re:
in the thick of loss,
carrying unspoken grief from long ago,
or simply want to live with more authenticity and intention,
You’re in the right place.
💭 What to expect
Each week, I share personal essays, heartfelt reflections, and honest explorations on topics like:
Grief & healing
Growth through adversity
Parenting & identity
Love & letting go
Living with intention & making time count
Creativity & self-expression
🗣️ My goal
To speak openly about the parts of life we don’t talk about enough — especially breaking the silence around grief.
To offer comfort and clarity through life’s challenges.
And to remind us all that it’s possible to live a meaningful, joyful life — even in the face of hardship.
✨ If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that adversity changes us.
Grief in particular is life-altering in painful, often brutal ways — but it also holds the potential to teach us, shape us, and redefine our priorities and values, if we’re willing to face it.
It can deepen our sense of empathy, sharpen our sense of purpose, and bring us closer to what truly matters.

What a beautiful idea. I talk to my father (who died a few years ago) every day. Looking forward to reading your letters.
